Requirements Description Rory Mackie & Associates Junior Accountant Jobs
Responsibilities:
- Full function of accounting records on General Ledger to year-end trial balance. This includes year-end adjustments, depreciation etc.
- Ensuring that the trial balance is up to date
- Create Annual Financial Statements
- General, supplier and customer ledgers and bank reconciliations
- Contribute to the management of a portfolio of clients in respect of accounting and consultation work
- Preparation of management accounts
- Processing of data
- Client liaison
- General administration
- Assist with income tax returns (data collation and input under guidance from the team), VAT and basic tax returns (company/individual/trust)
- Payroll
- Grow into looking after your own client base (under guidance from the team)
- Perform all other general accounting functions
Essential requirements:
- Degree, Diploma or Bookkeeping qualification and Matric with very good marks in Mathematics and Accounting
- Pastel and/ or Xero experience in a professional accounting environment
- Strong work ethic and integrity
- Good Excel and MS Word skills
- Great written and oral communication skills
- Accurate and detail focused
- Analytical and problem-solving capabilities
- Must reside in the Southern Suburbs
