Your role

• Participate in the formulation of the Supply chain Strategy for SGD
• Implementation of SGD Supply Chain strategy
• To develop a detailed supply plan that supports the company’s demand plan to the required level of customer service
• Identify and implement ERP/IFS system and production planning improvements within the supply chain to enable production planning and material control process improvements
• To ensure maintenance of the production plan which should be as stable as possible in order to support MRP
• Provide clear guidance and direction to material controllers to ensure availability of SRU’s to meet LRU delivery commitments
• Ensure alignment between demand and supply taking production capacity into consideration
• Disaggregation of the production schedule for SRU’s / LRU’s into weekly buckets
• Governance of lot size quantities for LRU’s / SRU’s in order to minimise variances
• Effective management and timing of all Engineering Orders and changes to minimise excess inventory
• Management of Shop Order dates and quantities taking production priorities and constraints into consideration
• Ensure that MRP action messages are executed timeously
• Analyse inventory levels and product demand to determine reorder levels and safety stocks that will ensure product availability and minimize inventory costs.
• Escalate production and procurement shortages to prevent overdue deliveries
• Proactively review material supply and demand to determine push/pull actions appropriate to impact execution of the MPS
• Include scheduling for new product development, upgrades, Test bench requirements, maintenance & repairs
• Support Agile manufacturing philosophy
• Assist in the resolution of MRP and planning discrepancies
• Support the implementation of innovative inventory efficiency programs.
• Carry out all legal instructions from your line management as all duties and responsibilities are not limited to the above

Your profile

Utilize input from the Integrated Business Planning Team to create and develop a Master Production Schedule (MPS) that supports delivery commitments to internal stakeholders. This MPS will consider short, medium and long-range material planning while considering backlog, development, maintenance and repairs, inventory levels, obsolescence, lead times, product life cycles, available resources and production capacity.

Required skills:

• Knowledge of manufacturing processes and supply chain management
• A good understanding of Manufacturing & Industrial engineering principles
• Operational and General Business Management skills
• Computer literate – MS Office Suite, MS Projects

Desired skills:

• Minimum of 5-10 years of Supply Chain / MRP / Master Scheduling experience
• APICS certification / qualification with Supply Chain experience
• Minimum of 5 years’ Supply Chain experience within a complex Manufacturing/repair environment

Qualification:

• Manufacturing/ Production / Industrial Engineering degree or equivalent.
• National Diploma / BTech Industrial Engineering (Higher Diploma)
